My Favorite City: New York is brought to you by our good friends at Citifari Photo Tours This is the second installment from thier series on New York

4. New York from the park

Ok, this is going to sound weird, but there is nothing better than to walk to Central Park and feel the city all around you. Try it! You will see that the tops of buildings will follow you throughout your walk… The good thing is that, surrounded by trees and greenery, they are just more beautiful!

The other good thing with Central Park is that the place is charming all the year long: you can enjoy the flowers in spring, the green grass in summer, the leaves’ color in fall, the skating rink in winter. The only requirement for amazing pictures is good weather!

Enjoy The Mall’s perspective, have fun at the Conservatory Pond, admire the architecture of Bethesda Terrace, and don’t forget to go on Belvedere Castle for having a picture of the famous view of The Great Lawn with the buildings in the background.

Do you want to learn more about Central Park? Again, discover citifari’s Central Park photo tour and learn to leverage the unique combination between romantic nature and New York architecture that compose the Park. The Central Park photo tour features the park's lakes, bridges, unique constructions, vegetation and the skyline of Manhattan surrounding it.

5. New York from the High Line

After discovering New York from all these ways, you will really appreciate to discover New York from a way that mixes all of them! This special place is the High Line and it is now, one of my favorite places in New York. The High Line is a public park built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West The first three sections of this green space were inaugurated in 2009.

The High Line runs through three of Manhattan's most dynamic neighborhoods: the Meatpacking District, West Chelsea, and Hell’s Kitchen/Clinton. Start your visit by discovering the charm of Chelsea. Have a breakfast at the Empire Diner (210 10th Avenue) and enjoy the retro style of this authentic American diner. Go North until 28th street and take the stairs to go up on the High Line. Throughout your walk, you can admire exceptional views of the city, original artworks and futurist architectures. The High Line is also a great place to relax with numerous benches surrounded by vegetation. Finish your walk at the Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District. Have lunch at The Standard Grill (848 Washington at 13th

street) and enjoy the ice skating rink on winter. Continue your walk in this rapidly developing area and finish your day with a visit of the Chelsea Market (75 9th Avenue, between 15th and 16th streets).

6. Bonus: New York by Night

What more impressive than New York by night? Feel the beat of the city that never sleeps with a night walk under the illuminated buildings. Choose a place that you like (the Brooklyn Bridge is a good option) and wait for the dusk, my favorite time of day for shooting great pictures. If you are lucky, you will have an intense blue color on your pictures’ background before the nightfall.

New York is a great playground for night photography: taxis headlights, traffic lights, neon lights, each corner has a surprise to offer, especially on the holidays. However don’t forget your tripod that is the condition to obtain amazing pictures. Don’t have one? Don’t know how to use it? Citifari has a solution for you!

Discover citifari’s New York by night photo tour and learn the difficult art of playing with the city night lights. The night tour includes the UN headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, the Chrysler building, the Rockefeller center and the Radio City Music Hall.
